Metal-Bonded Wheels
Metal-bonded wheels are the hardest in the Mirka® Cafro product family, capable of unparalleled edge and corner retention for demanding grinding in tough conditions, these excel in applications involving difficult materials and the need for long service life.
Metal bonded wheels are the best option for high corner retention wheels for profiling. They are available in continuous rim diameter from 3mm to 350mm, and segmented,
executed in continuous rim up to 750mm in diameter. Metal bonded diamond wheels are for grinding ceramics, graphite, abrasive materials, carbide and dressing VIT wheels.
CBN wheels are, for instance, intended for untreated stainless steels for medical use. Metal bonded wheels can be tailored to customer’s needs, reprofiled for radii up to 0,08 mm,
angles and complex geometries.

Diamond Cut Off Discs
Cut-off wheels for the tool industry
Resin bonded CBN and diamond grinding wheels for cutting carbide and HSS grinding tools.
Often shank tools are manufactured from standardized blanks made of carbide. These must be shortened to the individual

- Perfect cutting quality
- Low wear
- Low heat generation
Recommended use for dressing
TYROLIT cut-off wheels can be used as supplied, without dressing.
Recommended use for cut-off grinding
For the use of our cut-off wheels, TYROLIT application engineers recommend the following parameters
Cutting speed vc [m/s] |
Feed rate vt [mm/min] |
Cooling |
22 - 25 |
6 - 60 |
Necessary |
Please note that the application parameters require an optimum coolant supply and workpiece clamping.
